Meeting ATV/UTV Helmet Requirements

Each year a majority of the fatal ATV/UTV accidents in Wisconsin involve someone not wearing a helmet. Some of these victims could have survived had they been wearing a helmet. A helmet is the most important piece of equipment you can own.

  • DOT–approved ATV or motorcycle helmets are required for all ATV/UTV operators and passengers under age 18. Bicycle helmets do not meet this requirement.
