Meeting OHM Helmet and Eye Protection Requirements

Helmet

All OHM operators and passengers must wear a securely fastened helmet that is approved by the Department of Transportation unless the person:

  • Is at least 18 years old or…
  • Is at least 12 years old and traveling for the purpose of hunting or fishing or…
  • Is operating the OHM for an agricultural purpose.

Eye Protection

When an OHM is being operated on an OHM route or trail, the operator and any passengers must wear safety goggles, glasses, or a protective face shield attached to an approved helmet.
